Just a simple Base Model 1964 Mercury Comet 202 I have owned for 40+ years, some would say for a time a forgotten car just left to rot, but time gets away from us, and other things take priority and you wake up one day and 30 years have gone by in the blink of an eye, time to try and take back the lost years from the Comet, time to re-imagine it according to my vision.

I had big plans for my 1964 Comet I had parked the car in the early ’90s after a third or fourth brake failure when I started 64Comet.com in early 2000s, I was hoping to chronicle its rebirth but never really made any changes to the content, I was mostly trying to learn HTML and anyone familiar with it knows that it is not super friendly to make frequent changes, and I never really got started on the car, I also founded CometCentral.com around that same time to help connect to other Comet owners because of the rarity of the cars there is not much if any aftermarket support you get to depend on other owners for leads on parts so it mostly involved the forum which was tough to get off the ground.

To make a very long story a bit shorter, life took over and the Comet sat, I drifted away from the forum leaving another person to moderate it and did not return for around 5+ years, in my absence the forum grew from maybe 100 users to over 2,000 (today there a few over 3,000) they were holding yearly meets in Pigeon Forge, TN (The Comet Gathering), even though the Smoky Mountains are nearly two states away my wife and I began attending the meets and my interest in getting the Comet on the road again was renewed, but maybe I am getting a bit ahead of myself, maybe I should go back to the beginning…

This site will be a work in progress for some time because I have a lot of pictures and info from over 2 years I want to get posted up. Huge shout out to all the folks at Comet Central and Ford Six for their expert direction and advice that they freely give to everyone daily, without their help this project would be painfully lost.
